STEMSOFT at 2019 TCT Meetings

By March 21, 2019January 7th, 2021News

STEMSOFT was pleased to take part in the 2019 TCT Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASBMT and CIBMTR this past month in Houston, TX. STEMSOFT had the opportunity to connect with many of our current and potential clients in the exhibit hall and also had the opportunity to present at the IT and Informatics for Transplant and Cellular Therapy session.

David Barwin, the STEMSOFT Product Director, took the podium during the IT session to present the background and current product offerings of STEMSOFT while also addressing a number of the challenges that face this unique community:

  • The ongoing advancement of science and commercialization
  • The unfulfilled promise of EMRs
  • Data silos within BMT Programs
  • Lack of interoperability across departmental and organization-wide systems
  • Change management and AGNIS and CIBMTR registry reporting

With those challenges in mind, we are very excited by the discussion of FAST Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). FHIR (pronounced fire), is the next generation of HL7 integration standards and we believe it offers significant improvement over its predecessors. FHIR is the first HL7 standard to support biological products, making it possible to retrieve data for only BMT patients without having to look through every patient in the hospital. The first STEMSOFT FHIR interface is under development now, so stay tuned!

While it is our goal at STEMSOFT to make tracking, analyzing and sharing your data easy, we face many moving targets, complicating the features and toolkits that we can offer you. Nevertheless, we continue to look for innovative ways to aid our clients and always welcome your suggestions!

Our focus at TCT is primarily on STEMSOFT CLINIC and so our presentations and conversations emphasized our continued and ongoing support for every AGNIS form, and announced the release of our new STEMSOFT BI enhancement that lets you visualize and analyze your data entirely in the browser with only a few clicks. If you don’t have this latest version installed yet, be sure to request it today.
